My arrival in Congress is not going to make Gavin Newsom’s life easier. Quite the contrary.
When someone sent me his Inaugural Address last Friday, at first I thought it was a parody. Newsom called California the “true freedom state,” offering a litany of unhinged attacks on “red state politicians.” Delusional doesn’t even begin to describe it.
As he took an oath he will immediately ignore, Newsom was riding high off a historic three-peat. In 2022, California led the nation in one-way U-Haul rentals, just like in 2021 and 2020.
I will continue to do everything I can to expose Newsom’s failures, using all the new tools at my disposal to hold him accountable. Our movement for sanity in California will continue to grow.
Meanwhile, a semblance of sanity has already returned to the U.S. Capitol. Last night, the House passed a rule to end proxy voting. Some members of Congress are upset they can no longer vote from the golf course.
We also voted to repeal Joe Biden’s army of 87,000 new IRS agents. And today we established a committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government to investigate how agencies have illegally monitored and targeted American citizens.
Finally, we created a Select Committee to counter threats from the Chinese Communist Party. You’d think this would be uncontroversial – even Pelosi supported the legislation. Yet 65 far-left Members somehow voted against it.
This is all after just two days. It’s going to be an action-packed two years.
