Thank you so much for your tremendous support. We’ve received questions about how the upcoming Primary affects contribution limits for the cycle, so I wanted to take a moment to summarize the FEC rules.

Effectively, the passage of the Primary cuts the contribution limit in half:

  • The individual limit for the Primary is $3,300, and the limit for the General is also $3,300.
  • Prior to the March 5 Primary, an individual can contribute up to $6,600, which is the combined maximum for the Primary and the General. The campaign is able to report the entire $6,600 for the next reporting deadline, and can save all of it to use in the General.
  • However, once March 5 passes, the overall limit becomes $3,300 for an individual, regardless of whether that individual gave to the Primary or not.

Below are a few examples. If you have any questions, or would like to know what you have contributed so far this cycle, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email!

The link to donate online is here, and the address is Kevin Kiley for Congress, 9458 Treelake Rd. Granite Bay, CA 95746.

Thank you,
Kevin

Examples:

  • A donor has given $1,000 to the 2024 re-election campaign so far. That person currently can give an additional $5,600; however, once March 5 passes, they can only give $3,300.
  • A donor has given $3,300 to the 2024 re-election. That person can given another $3,300 at any time between now and the November generalelection.
  • A donor has given $6,600 to the 2024 re-election. That donor cannot give any more to the campaign. However, if they are married their spouse gave give up to $6,600. Also, they can give up to $5,000 to our Election Victory PAC.
