Yesterday I joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy at Union Station in LA, where we announced an investigation into CA High-Speed Rail. It will look into exactly where all the money went, while potentially clawing back $4.3 billion Biden gave on his way out.
A few protestors showed up in support of the boondoggle and tried to drown out my remarks, with one even throwing a tomato. They didn’t succeed. You can watch here as they vainly tried to stop me from revealing some basic facts about the train to nowhere:
"The High-Speed Rail disaster is the worst public infrastructure failure in U.S. history. It is a blight on our landscape and an embarrassment to our state. It is a symbol for the decline of modern California, showcasing political ineptitude on an epic scale.
This ill-fated project exemplifies the failures of transparency and accountability, of governance and planning, of vision and leadership, of competence and common sense that have turned the greatest state in the country into the most popular state to leave."
Afterwards, I discussed on Fox how this is the beginning of the end for the train. In addition to the investigation, I’ve introduced legislation to make the project ineligible for federal funding going forward – which the Rail Authority admits it is wholly reliant on.
Meanwhile, my special Resolution to overturn Newsom’s Gas Car Ban has been identified as the number one priority in the House for repealing Biden-era regulations. You can read more in Politico about my legislation to overturn the ban with a majority vote.
You can also watch this special feature on our plan to restore common sense in California. And there’s still time to request a printed copy of our Newsom-Proofing booklet; we’ll be mailing them out early next week. Thank you for helping to spread the word – more victories to come!
