We’ve defeated Gavin Newsom, time and time again. Now, he’s making a desperate last stand. Newsom has hatched the most corrupt scheme in our state’s history, designed to obliterate the California Republican Party and target me specifically.
His plan is to overthrow California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission – the independent body, established by voters, that draws the lines for congressional districts – and redraw the map himself so Republicans are reduced to 3 out of our state’s 52 House seats.
It was just last year that Newsom sent his own staffer to run against me. We won by 46,000 votes. So now he's trying to beat us the only way he knows how: cheating. He plans to import 50,000 Democrat-leaning voters into my district.
I’ve spent the past week going on every national network – Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Newsmax, Fox Business, NPR – with a simple message: Newsom is a unique threat to democracy.
The good news is I’ve introduced a bill to stop Newsom’s corrupt plan, and it is receiving tremendous support. We will defeat his redistricting sham just as we overturned his gas-car ban, cut his high-speed rail funding, and passed prop. 36 in a landslide.
When asked about my bill, Newsom tied himself in knots. He was likewise humiliated when, after he criticized President Trump for White House renovations, I pointed out California is spending $1.2 billion to “renovate” the State Capitol.
Meanwhile, following my request for an investigation into the Fire Aid concert, President Trump has referred the matter to AG Bondi; 14 state attorneys general are opening their own investigation; and I’ve joined Jim Jordan in launching a Judiciary Committee investigation.
Finally, the CA Coastal Commission is again trying to stop SpaceX launches. Last time they tried this they admitted it was because they didn't like Elon Musk’s political posts. I've introduced a bill to strip the Commission's powers under federal law.
