Tomorrow is our end-of-month deadline, and we are in the fight of our lives. Gavin Newsom is trying to blow up our Constitution in order to gerrymander me out of office and kill our movement for sanity in California.

Newsom tried to oust me last year with his own staffer running against me. He failed. He tried to stop us from reversing his gas-car ban. He failed. He tried to stop us from cutting off his High-Speed Rail funds. He failed. He tried to stop us from passing Prop. 36. He failed. 

So now he's targeting me with his Redistricting Sham, redrawing my district in the shape of an elephant in order to import Democrat voters via the “trunk.” We absolutely must make sure he fails again.

Newsom has cooked up a rigged congressional map even though the voters of California and the Constitution explicitly say he’s not allowed to do this. So he’s called a rushed “Special Election” on Nov. 4 to throw out our entire Constitution in favor of his gerrymandering scheme.

The voters don’t want this, so Newsom is going to lie to them. He’s just released a ballot description that is rife with fraud. It is designed to fool voters into giving him back the power they specifically took away from him. This is, without question, the most corrupt scheme in our state’s history.

I need your help today to stop Newsom’s scheme.

Newsom is spending $250 million in tax dollars just to execute the scheme. He’ll spend hundreds of millions more in political ads as money rolls in from the Special Interests that own him. All for the sake of doing something he could never do fairly: beat me in an election.

When he sent his own “Deputy Secretary” to run against me last year we won by 46,000 votes. He hates that we are Newsom-proofing California. He knows that we are the biggest threat to his presidential delusions. And he knows he can’t beat us without cheating. 

That’s what the Redistricting Sham is all about. Newsom’s goal is nothing less than the obliteration of the CA Republican Party, locking in a permanent one-party state that will be the end of California as we know it. That is why this moment is absolutely make-or-break.

It is of course infuriating that the very governor who has ruined our state is now trying to destroy our movement through the most dishonest and corrupt means. But we have always known that nothing will come easy. 

We set out to topple the most corrupt political establishment in modern American history, and we knew they would throw everything they could at us. 

But we have beat them again and again, overcoming the odds time after time. While this is our highest-stakes battle yet – with everything on the line – I am confident that with your help, we can prevail again.
