In a historic victory for the First Amendment, Google has joined Facebook and X in condemning the vast social media censorship of the Biden Administration. YouTube is also restoring the accounts of creators who were banned and changes its policies to prevent further censorship.

This triumph for free speech resulted from our oversight efforts on the Judiciary Committee since I joined Congress. I spoke with Jack Taper on CNN about how we got the major tech companies to change course and have turned the page on this dark era of American censorship.

Meanwhile, following my viral video about a dog voting in California, the U.S. DOJ has sued the state for failing to produce its voter rolls. It's about time we had accountability: the voter rolls are a mess and we have no idea how many ineligible people (or animals) are mailed ballots. 

On Monday, I’m taking part in a Judiciary Field Hearing in Charlotte, site of the horrific subway murder of Iryna Zarutska. We’ll examine how reckless policies, like leniency towards repeat offenders, have spawned violent crime in places like Charlotte – and many California cities.

I also gave a speech on the House Floor responding to Newsom’s claim that I “continue to lie about CA High Speed Rail. And the Sacramento Bee has published an article about how Adam Schiff is refusing to apologize after being caught lying about me on TV.

In sadly unsurprising news, new student reading/math scores have hit an all-time low. As Chair of the K-12 Subcommittee, I delivered remarks about how to save American Education through principles that work: choice, local control, high expectations, accountability, and back to basics.

With so many recent victories – and so much left to do – the next five weeks must nevertheless focus first and foremost on a 7-word imperative: Defeat Newsom. Save California. No on 50.
