This week, I officially requested that FBI Director Kash Patel open an investigation into California High-Speed Rail. I am confident that the FBI will act quickly, and am also confident, as I said on Fox, that we are going to kill the project.

This came amidst a week in which the Democrat minority sunk to new lows. Al Green, the Representative who interrupted President Trump during his address to Congress and had to be removed from the chamber, was formally censured today by the House today.

I spoke immediately after Green on the House Floor following the vote. And I did not hold back in condemning the antics of him and his colleagues, some of whom walked out during the speech and all of whom refused to stand and applaud a single time when the President spoke.

I also officially introduced the Coastal Commission Accountability Act, to strip the CA Coastal Commission of its powers under federal law. The Coastal Commission is the most out-of-control agency in America and will be the greatest obstacle to rebuilding LA. Elsewhere:

  • I pointed out that the federal government is wasting billions on vacant buildings
  • I lit into the Supermajority in Sacramento for an outrageous anti-2nd Amendment bill that removes your right to defend yourself in your own home
  • A bill I sponsored to end the "dark matter" of secret regulations that target Americans passed the House
  • I  announced a hearing next week on School Choice, which I’m holding as Chair of the House Education Subcommittee.

Meanwhile, today Newsom made a surprise admission: that letting men compete in women’s sports is “unfair.” I immediately took to the House Floor and called on him to show he’s serious by issuing an executive order – modeled on Trump’s – to protect women's sports.

Finally, it appears increasingly likely that Kamala Harris will run for Governor of California in 2026. Which means it’s increasingly possible that California could elect a Republican Governor in 2026. In the meantime, we are both Newsom-Proofing and Kamala-Proofing California.
