Last week, a serial child molester serving three life sentences was granted parole and Newsom denied responsibility. But as I discussed on Fox and Friends, it was Newsom who signed the reckless early release law and it's his parole board that let the offender out.

The "monster parents fear most," as the judge called him, would have been back on our streets. Thankfully, in a heroic act of Newsom-proofing, our DA in Placer County immediately filed new charges stemming from a separate 1996 assault on a child. The monster will remain behind bars.

Meanwhile in DC, we had a major Judiciary Committee vote, passing legislation to end “sanctuary" policies nationwide. The bill included my Freedom to Cooperate Act to allow local jurisdictions in California to opt out of the Sanctuary State.

And our investigations into California fraud have reached full throttle. In my latest California Post op-ed, I outlined our multi-pronged strategy to stamp it out and save our taxpayers billions. This includes a multitude of audits, investigations, clawbacks, and even arrests.

For example, Californians were charged extra fees on their phone service the last six years for a "Next Generation 911 System." Yet after spending $450 million, Newsom scrapped the whole project because the technology doesn't work. Now there will be a state and federal investigation.

I also joined Newsmax to discuss how even the NY Times is saying California elections are out of the "pretelegraph era." Not only does it take a month to count votes, but our voter rolls are a mess, ballots are mailed to everyone (requested or not). and Voter ID is banned.

Finally, I took to the House Floor to compare our gas prices to those in Maryland, a bluer state than California. At this moment we pay $1.65 more. Our state's energy policies are uniquely insane. My new bill, the Gas Tax Reduction Act, will give us some relief.
