Yesterday, I announced I will be running for reelection in California’s new Sixth District. With Gavin Newsom having smashed my district into six pieces, figuring out which of the six to run in was a very difficult decision. I’m so grateful for everyone’s feedback and encouragement.The most well-known Democrat candidate in the field is none other than Richard Pan. He and Newsom were the tag team behind school shutdowns, mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and all of the other insanity we endured.
This is at once an opportunity to thwart Newsom’s corrupt gerrymander and repudiate his catastrophic COVID policies. The stakes could not be higher.
The new 6th District is Democratic-leaning but open-minded. It will be a more challenging race. But I believe we can build a winning coalition for common sense. I believe we can beat Newsom again. I believe the fight for California’s future has only just begun.
