I've repeatedly warned Newsom that allowing men in women's sports would have consequences. Sure enough, California has just been found in violation of Title IX of the civil rights laws. We will lose federal education funding unless the state complies with DOE’s conditions.
I just left the House Floor, where I called on Newsom to comply immediately: change the absurd policy, give awards to female athletes unjustly deprived of them, and issue a formal apology to those athletes. I’ve also written to the CIF demanding immediate action.
The California Democrat Party, meanwhile, is attacking me for overturning Newsom's gas-car ban. Their lame meme photographs me next to President Trump as the two responsible. Someone forgot to tell them 35 Democrats joined Republicans in passing my legislation.
Meanwhile, on the House Judiciary Committee we are opening an investigation into the use of taxpayer funds to fuel the LA riots by the "nonprofit" CHIRLA. This is in addition to my bill denying such groups public funding and tax exempt status.
Elsewhere in DC: I gave a blistering speech condemning the partisan opposition to our operations in Iran; I chaired a hearing on expanding choice and affordability with childcare; and I successfully defeated a plan to sell off our beautiful public lands like the Lake Tahoe basin.
Also: 79 House Democrats voted to impeach President Trump. These are simply not serious people. Speaking of which, Newsom is claiming Trump’s National Guard deployment is harming border security; I pointed out illegal border crossings in California are down 96 percent this year.
Since his humiliating loss in Court, Newsom has become even more unhinged than usual. As I noted on Fox News, his unanimous defeat is a final verdict on his disgraceful handling of the LA riots – which showed the whole country what he’s done to our state.
