Yesterday I had the honor of witnessing history from inside the beautiful rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. It’s a new beginning for our country, and California stands to benefit as much as anywhere. A new Golden Age for America could also mean a revival for the Golden State.

Our mission – to make California sane again – has never been so tangibly within reach. I sat down in my office at the Capitol for an interview with The Issue Is, California’s statewide political show, and outlined my plan to Newsom-proof our state. Here are the two latest prongs:

  • I’ve introduced legislation to prohibit Newsom from continuing to give Medi-Cal to illegal immigrants. This will save California taxpayers $6.8 billion per year.
  • I am introducing legislation to strip the CA Coastal Commission of the powers it’s been granted by federal law. As I discussed with Newsmax, the Commission is completely out of control and has veered far from its purpose of protecting the coast.

Indeed, the Newsom-proofing of California is already underway. Newsom just had to withdraw his request for a statewide ban on non-electric trucks and trains. In addition, several of President Trump’s Day 1 Executive Orders will counter insane California policies.

Meanwhile, the tragedy in LA has put Newsom’s catastrophic incompetence on shocking display to the entire world. You can watch my national interview here about how his shameful attempts to deflect blame are failing

To make matters worse, Newsom and the Supermajority wanted to condition LA disaster relief on creating a $50 million slush fund for lawsuits against Trump. After I blasted them for this disgraceful plan, the public outrage was so strong they abandoned it.

Finally, I am honored to be named Chair of the House Subcommittee on Education. Our education system is failing millions of young people. But we now have a chance to restore local control, parental rights, and excellence in America’s schools.

Help me Newsom-proof California
