From the moment I took office, Newsom and his allies in DC vowed to “flip” our district. They put me on their “target” list and had Newsom’s own staff member run against me. Tomorrow, we can see that their plans fail decisively and that our movement emerges stronger than ever.
If you have not yet voted you can still place your ballot in the mail, or find your polling place and nearby drop boxes here. The polls in California close at 8 PM; you can follow the results tomorrow evening here.
In addition to my race, we will get results from across the country in the race for the House, the Senate, and of course the White House. We will also get results on the California Propositions – most importantly Prop. 36, which we worked so hard to get on the ballot.
73 percent of Californians support our initiative to make crime illegal again, including 68 percent of Democrats. But incredibly, the California Democrat running for President just refused to say if she voted for it. Of course, that would mean admitting the failure of her and Newsom’s policies.
Whether she admits it or not, the people of California have seen it, have lived it, and have decided to change it. I believe that after years of decline and decay, we are on a path back to sanity – that tomorrow can be a great day for our state, and for our country as well.
My ultimate hope is after tomorrow we can end this era of division, of fighting over small things, and begin a new era of being united by big things. That means returning to our founding principles, and collaborating on a future of previously unimaginable prosperity.
Thank you for your support throughout this Election!
