Voting is underway in the Recall of three SF school board members who refused to open schools. 2022 will be the year of accountability.

Even San Francisco’s very liberal Mayor and State Senator support the Recall. Throughout California, I’ve met many lifelong Democrats who are voting differently this year. Some things, it turns out, are more basic than partisanship – sanity, decency, and respect.

In this vein, I’ll be reminding voters what happened on March 4, 2021. That’s the day of the vote on my amendment to open schools in the Legislature. Not one Democrat supported it. You can watch the Floor proceedings here.

Beyond removing corrupt officials, this election offers a chance for the ultimate measure of accountability in education: putting funding in the hands of parents. You can download and sign the petition to qualify the transformative School Choice ballot proposition here

Fighting for accountability is how I see my job in the Legislature. We won a small victory a few weeks ago when the “Superintendent of Equity” resigned his $160,000 post, after I pointed out he was illegally appointed by the state schools chief (whose wedding he was in).

That’s also how I’ll see my job in Congress. We’ve now learned the Biden Administration was behind the outrageous letter calling parents “domestic terrorists” for speaking up at school board meetings. The fact no one has resigned shows how desperately accountability is needed.

Help me bring accountability to the Capitol
